On Thursday, U.S. officials speaking to NBC news claimed that Mossad agents were training members of the dissident terror group People's Mujahedin of Iran in order assassinate Iranian nuclear scientists, adding that the administration of U.S. President Barack Obama was aware of the operation, but had no direct link to them.
Israel is against terrorism....unless it serves their interests.

Regardless of his occupation (which in my opinion doesn't matter, he's a scientist) he is a civilian and I believe the US will not support targetted assassination of civilians. At least I will love to believe this is still true

welp, there are prominent US officials who disagree with the terrorist designation. I think it's safe to say the MEK are "our terrorists" v the sovereign state of Iran.
At the same time the officials have denied US involvement with the group. After the latest attack on January 11, 2012, Iran’s Foreign Ministry claimed that it has evidence that the CIA provided “guidance, support and planning” for the operation.

It depends on what standard you are using. Any act that involves killing civilians for political reasons is terrorism. This means that most governments and militant groups in the world have committed terrorism. There are other standards. For example, international recognition as a terrorist group. The PMOI is an internationally recognized terrorist group; the Iranian government is not.

You might find some in certain capitals across the globe would disagree with you. They recognize that the mullah/Guard regime exports terror while supporting other terrorist groups. That just might include Hamas.
